Is it just me or are those people getting a little scary? Mob mentality or rabble that have been “roused”? This seems new in politics – so much hate – I wonder if anything good can come from that!
Deb, I am concerned about the mob mentality, too. But, on a broader spectrum, as this cartoon is illustrating, I am concerned about the tone from both sides – although, more “conservative” than “liberal” at this point – of our discourse in this country. The very fact that we now have such sides troubles me.
Exactly – I totally agree & I remember that this started about the time of the Gore/Bush campaign & I never really understood what brought that on?! I was hoping this would stir some talk about why this started. We’ve always chosen sides but could talk civilly about it but now not so much!
Then, the next question becomes how do we get past this and behave decently again? It’ just politics – no one died!
Nicely said!! Another thing that is bothering me, Deb, is that people are avoiding the issue I’m trying to bring up, making the mistake perhaps of thinking that I am taking a political position here.
I am trying to encourage good processes, healthy processes, processes that have hope of getting tangible results that are good for the American people and that will stop leaving people feeling abused and ripped off.
I know you are not judging! Come on, everyone, weigh in on this and let’s talk about it & air it out nicely!
Politics and its many forms. We have simply forgotten the art of listening. The cartoon did a fantastic job of highlighting that.

Exactly, Ashok! And we’ve forgotten how to disagree with civility and respect.
