I Give Thanks, Today…
It is a fine American Holiday that we are celebrating today, a day when we stop to appreciate the bounty given us by the Almighty! It is a day to reflect on all the blessings life bestows upon us.
Today, I want to personally thank you, the readers of this blog, because you have enriched and fed me more over the past year than I could ever hope to express. When I publish a post, I can hardly wait to see what you think about the idea! I’m like a kid in a candy shop. It just doesn’t get better and it is because you are such good, caring, thoughtful people.
There has been that special dessert served up by the Loose Bloggers Consortium, whose topics I anxiously await each week, to see what each can mine from a single topic. Week after week, it is gold. Week after week, it gives me perspective. Week after week, it moves my heart.
Thank you! All of you.

Thank you Conrad!
For your wishes. For your friendship and most of all for the Loose Bloggers Consortium. It was your brainwave and we have all benefited from it and grown through it.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Grannymar, you are a delight!
Conrad and Grannymar you are both delightful and I give thanks for a wonderful son that has brought many people into my life (Grannymar being one of them) that I would never have had any contact with had he not started this blog…..boy, that was a sentence and a half, lol.
This was one of our different Thanksgiving Days……kinda’ like the one in Manchester when we were snowed in and had to make do with what I kept stored in the freezer for emergencies. Ordinarily we would have Dinner with one or the other of our parents tables but that winter there was just too much snow so I fixed a chicken, dressing, rolls, salad, potatoes. gravy and “punkin” pie. I thought things went rather well until I found out that Viki told the grandparents that “we didn’t had no Thanksgiving Dinner ’cause it snowed and we didn’t had no turkey.” Out of the mouths of babes!! My mother immediately thought we must have survived on balogna sandwiches or some such thing and it took a lot of explaining at both houses.
Yesterday afternoon the same Viki called me and wanted to know if she had informed me that Thanksgiving would be on Saturday instead of Thursday. I said no and I’d better unpack the car and put the stuff back into the freezer until Saturday or we would really not have any Thanksgiving Dinner……Joe and I survived on sliced turkey, salad and apple sauce this year……I can hardly wait until Saturday because Viki is an excellent cook and fixes enough food for the whole neighborhood.
I feel quite sure that all you bloggers had a good and filling day and I wish that it could be so for all the hungry people in the world.
Love to you all,
Corky
Yeah Thanks!
Dessert is spelled with two S. Otherwise it’s a sandy desert & the Consortium ( I asked Tom what that meant exactly;) isn’t that. It’s delicious like a dessert.
See why everyone needs a proof reader–like your other Post suggests.
Mom, it has been a good bunch of people to know, huh?
I love it when you drop these remembrances in. And make Viki fix you a lot! We did just fine out here and I ate a piece of Punkin pie in celebration of Grannymar’s future enjoyment.
You know, changing desert to dessert does kind of improve the meaning, LOL.
Well it was a bit like a desert here food wise, since we do not celebrate Thanksgiving. I did chase a toyboy in the morning and another handsome one called to see (check up on) me in the afternoon. I guess I do have plenty to be thankful for!
