Stop Wobbling, Dammit
Lin Chi Zen Master once said, "When walking, just walk. When sitting, just sit. But above all don’t wobble!"
Now, let’s look at the two boys from our recent drama:
Just walking.
Just sitting.
Hmmm… not enough.
Ahhhh…. Zen Mastery.

Zen and the art of Segway riding. There is a book there for you Conrad.
Rummuser´s last blog ..Doubts And Regrets.
As they say in Dublin (I)… Any chance of a lend of a loan of your Segway, Mister?
Grannymar´s last blog ..Over The Top
But master Conrad, didn’t you fall?
Looney´s last blog ..
I had to come back and see if there was any further progress here. It doesn’t really matter what we do as long as we concentrate on what we are doing. When we are walking, our mind should be on that. Same with riding a motorcycle or whatever. I think that’s a kind of eternal truth…….you seem to be doing okay anyway….

A Ramana, I may have a better title, but I am saving it for an upcoming Segway segment.
GM, I’d love to lend it – cept it ain’t mine. Dang.
Yes, Looney, unfortunately I did fall. Ergo, “Stop wobbling, dammit!”
gaelikaa, I’m hanging in there! And, when I win the lottery, I’m gonna have me a Segway!
When I got my bicycle shoes with cleats, there was a strap like metal thing on the petal, that held your shoe to the petal. At stop lights, I’d fall over, not being able to get a foot out in time. Not a Safety thing to happen in traffic.
Later, you only had to twist your foot to unlock the cleat from the petal.
I’d love to have a Segway. I have a Mo-ped that could never make it up the hills here.
BHB, I started out with leather straps holding my feet to the pedals also. It does seem a necessary first part of learning to use these that we fall over the first time or two that we stop at a red light!
Looney´s last blog ..
bhb, I’d love to have a Segway, too. But, they are expensive and I would definitely be wearing knee pads riding it! LOL
I can just imagine how hard it would be to get out of those leather harnesses – and no, that doesn’t seem at all safe. Those harnesses are so the upstroke of your trailing leg adds to the power of the downstroke of your lead leg, right? And … what memories of high school days with the gang that Mo-ped reference brings back!
Looney, the new approach that I see many bicyclists use now is to just not stop at the red light but kind of meander around! Some of these daring souls are braver than I in some of the traffic we have out here.
I always marvel at the bicyclists that STAND STILL at the red light. With PERFECT balance they can do that!
That’s not clear.– The guys aren’t standing. They’re sitting on their bicycles which are standing still.
I’ll pass on the segway. Never mind the new pair of shoe…momma wants a Vespa!

bhb, I knew exactly what you meant and I marvel at it, too! I have no idea where that kind of balance comes from.
Marianna, you would be quite stylish on a Vespa!!
Conrad -
We are about at the point where the clowns who come to play on your blog are going to start jumping in! lol
ps – Marianna, I love the Vespa’s but Harley has a new small bike – hmmm – it really fit my sitter downer good!
Deb, as your buddy dubbya would say, “Bring ‘em on!”
