Groundhog Day!

Every year on February 2nd, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, a groundhog named Phil is taken from his den to see if he sees his shadow.  If he does, there will be six more weeks of winter – although, a grey day would seem to indicate that to me, but .. – and this is obviously important to our people, our agriculture, our economy, etc.  Well, I had heard that the original Phil died last year or the year before.  So, they put in a new groundhog.

I couldn’t get a clear picture, but I think I may recognize this groundhog in PA …

That groundhog looks suspiciously like a breed we used to have in Kansas, huh?

Hey, Don, I need to pass that along to Carly, because she will be taking off to see the Maori this Friday!

Funny story. The time difference from here will be 3 hours. Plus a day. So, it is tomorrow three hours earlier there. Her roommate was worried that the extra day would TOTALLY disrupt her sleep!!

Conrad, for the torment, I gave the rest of the country 6 more weeks of winter. As for your part of the country, I’m still working on that. At least the cigar is keeping my den warm.

  8. Maynard is it your fault that we have snow falling right at this moment in Northern Ireland?

Thanks Maynard, our snow storm is scheduled for tomorrow. We all got more snow, but poor Conrad’s part of the country is being invaded by the giant, ink-spewing squids!! Actually, I wish I had my pole in the water, a 106 lb squid would be kinda fun to catch.

  11. We can use this particular groundhog over here, if it can predict the weather better than our local experts do. It can have all the cigars that it wants, though it may just find the warmth a bit uncomfortable.

GM, the snow is his fault, but in his capacity as Cowboy Joe. That boy has MORE guises…

Ramana, that weather predicting rock Mayo sent me a ways back is probably the best predictor.

  15. HAhahaha, is that the burger king guy on the groundhog body?
